Hotel Pick-Up
Begin your day with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Jerusalem. We travel through the dramatic landscapes of the Judean Desert, where the scenery gradually changes from the hills surrounding Jerusalem to the vast desert overlooking the Dead Sea. Along the way we introduce the geography and history of this unique region, one of the most fascinating landscapes in Israel.
Masada National Park
Our first destination is Masada National Park, one of the most iconic historical sites in Israel. We ascend the mountain by cable car and explore the impressive remains of King Herod’s desert palace, built in the 1st century BCE. Walking among the ruins, we uncover the dramatic story of the Jewish rebels who held Masada during the Great Revolt against Rome. For families celebrating a Bar Mitzvah, Masada offers a truly meaningful setting for the ceremony, surrounded by breathtaking desert views. For those interested, the tour can also be arranged as a sunrise tour at Masada.
Ein Bokek Beach – The Dead Sea
We continue to Ein Bokek Beach on the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Known for its extremely high mineral concentration, the water allows visitors to float effortlessly on the surface. Here you can enjoy a unique swimming experience, try the famous Dead Sea mud, and experience the natural spa environment created by this remarkable landscape.
Lunch by the Dead Sea
After the swim, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant near Ein Bokek or at one of the hotels in Ein Gedi. This break offers a chance to relax, enjoy local flavors, and take in the quiet desert surroundings before continuing the day’s exploration.
Desert Oasis – Ein Gedi or Ein Feshkha
In the afternoon we visit a desert oasis along the Dead Sea. Normally the tour includes Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, famous for its freshwater springs, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. However, parts of the reserve are currently closed following a collapse that occurred in 2025. Depending on accessibility, we will either explore the open areas of Ein Gedi or visit the nearby oasis of Ein Feshkha (Einot Tzukim Nature Reserve), another beautiful natural area known for its freshwater pools and wildlife. Both locations offer a refreshing contrast to the surrounding desert landscape.
Return to Jerusalem
At the end of the day we begin our drive back through the landscapes of the Judean Desert, returning to your hotel in Jerusalem. The tour concludes after a full day combining ancient history, natural beauty, and the unforgettable experience of visiting the Dead Sea region.
