Tour Highlights

Hotel Pick-Up

Your adventure begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel as we set off for a day exploring the landscapes and cultures of the Golan Heights. Traveling north, we pass through the valleys of the Galilee while discussing the geography and strategic importance of this region in northern Israel.

Mount Hermon Reserve

We begin our visit in the Mount Hermon Nature Reserve, the highest nature reserve in Israel. A cable car ride takes us up the slopes of the mountain, where we enjoy sweeping views across the region. From the famous Hermon viewpoint, often called the “Eyes of the State”, we can see the borders of Syria, Lebanon, and Israel, offering a unique opportunity to understand the geography and geopolitics of this border area. In winter the Hermon area becomes Israel’s only ski site, though this tour focuses on exploring the mountain and its views rather than serving as a ski shuttle.

Nimrod Fortress

From Mount Hermon we descend to the impressive Nimrod Fortress (Qala’at Namrud), a massive medieval citadel located on the mountain’s slopes. Standing about 760 meters above sea level, the fortress overlooks the valleys of the Galilee and the Golan Heights. Walking through its towers and walls, we explore the story of the Mamluks, their military architecture, and the strategic battles that shaped this border region.

Odem Forest Cherry Farm

We continue into the beautiful Odem Forest in the heart of the Golan Heights to visit a local cherry farm. During the harvest season, visitors can pick fresh cherries directly from the trees while learning about agriculture in the region. The varied altitude of the Golan—from about 200 meters near the Sea of Galilee to nearly 900 meters near Mount Hermon—creates ideal conditions for growing a wide variety of crops.

Majdal Shams – Druze Culture

Next we visit the Druze village of Majdal Shams, located at the foot of Mount Hermon. Together with a local Druze guide, we explore the village and learn about the traditions, history, and beliefs of the Druze community. The visit concludes with a traditional Druze meal, offering an authentic taste of the region’s local cuisine.

Return to Hotel

At the end of the day we begin the drive back to your hotel. The tour concludes after a full day exploring the landscapes of the Golan Heights, combining panoramic views, historical sites, local agriculture, and cultural encounters.
